While we are trying to eliminate some things that are harmful to our earth, there are some things that we can't help. We all have trash. Even if we only have one bag a week, it still needs to be bagged. Did you know that regular trash bags do not biodegrade? They sit there in our landfills. Enter Green Genius. They make biodegradable trash bags! They're just as puncture resistant as national brands. They have our ridiculously strong drawstrings. They're priced the same as the national brands. And, they're made from 40% recycled plastic.
Green Genius makes Food Storage Bags too! The food bags have patented zippers and sliders that perform as good as or better than the national brands for the same price. They're made with a minimum 15% recycled plastic in every bag! The bags are FDA approved for food contact. These bags come in sandwich and snack bags - single zip, freezer bags - double zip & slider, and storage bags -double zip & slider.
Hubby is always complaining about the trash bags I use. He takes our trash to a friends house to burn and he complains the bags are always busting. I sent him with a green genius bag and he commented that it was the one bag that didn't bust. (When he says bust, this could include a rip, a tear, a hole or really busting) Green Genius Trash Bags passed the hubby test which means they are more than welcome in my house!
I would love to tell you how wonderful the Green Genius Freezer Bags have held up, but honestly, I just don't know! I froze some tomato juice in one the other day and it seems to be holding up great. It was really easy to close and there are no rips or tears. It expanded to hold the quart of juice I froze. If there are any problems with it when I defrost it, I will let you know. :)
Green Genius Bags can be bought in store or online at Amazon.com (get them for FREE when you buy with Swagbucks!). Visit the Green Genius site for more great information!

I learned that they combine plastic with a proprietary additive called EcoPure that bonds organic “nutrients” to the plastic’s molecular structure. The addition of this additive allows the plastic to be eaten by microbes, making the whole bag biodegradable. jfsarma at gmail dot com
