This week we'll be focusing on : Food Prep.
The first thing you need to do is make a menu. What do you want to serve? Write down a menu with everything you plan to serve for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. (We go visit family for both Thanksgiving and Christmas but we do a small Thanksgiving dinner at home too.) Go to your pantry and see what you have and what you'll need to buy. Make another list. Grab your Sunday inserts and cut coupons for the items that are on your list. There are tons of great coupons and sales now through Christmas on everything you'll need to have your dinner.
If you want to get the most for your money, only buy what is on sale and you have a coupon for. If you do this starting now and continuing until the week your dinner is, you will save the most money. It's just like stockpiling! Target has turkeys on sale this week for $0.88 a pound. There was a $4 coupon in today's paper when you buy a turkey and a combination of gravy, rolls and stuffing. There are coupons out for the other products you can use to make your dinner cost very low! Just looking for a turkey? Weis has them on sale for $0.49 a pound.
Spending a few minutes browsing sale ads and clipping coupons can help you serve a great meal without breaking the bank! Come back Thursday for more tips on Food Prep to help you enjoy your holiday!
