My Daughter-in-law is now doing what I did with my son--giving the girls a choice of what to eat for lunch. For example, Grapes or Banana? White cheese or yellow? Strawberry yogurt or blueberry? Peanut butter: crunchy or smooth? Jam flavor? The choices are completely up to the children, allowing them to feel in control, without making any kind of overt point about all the choices being "healthy." The lesson in healthy eating is in the action of providing healthy choices, rather than "teaching lessons." This looks like a great kid's lunch.
